A brooch in 750-thousandths rose gold, featuring in the centre a beautiful cameo on banded agate (chalcedony) depicting a female figure in the classical style (signed ‘R-B’ on the reverse of the cameo), the border and edges of the brooch feature a textured decoration of flowers and gold beads. French craftsmanship from the mid-19th century, in its custom-shaped case from MARRET & JARRY Frères on Rue Vivienne in Paris (1851–1858), marked ‘E-G’ on the top. Dimensions: 5 x 4.2 cm. Weight: 29.80 g.
