Jean COCTEAU (1889–1963) Three faces in profile, facing left Letter from Cocteau to Jean-Jacques Kihm. Black pencil and coloured pencil on paper. Dated 31 May 1959 in the top right-hand corner. Dedication on the reverse in coloured pencil, dated and signed. On the reverse of Santo Sospir letterhead. 26.2 x 19.5 cm (viewable area) Provenance: - Jean-Jacques Kihm - Private collection A certificate may be requested by the purchaser, at their own expense, from the artist’s specialist, Dominique Bert. (€180 incl. VAT) Jean-Jacques Kihm (1923–1970) met Cocteau in 1953, after sending him his poems. A collaboration, followed by a ten-year friendship, developed. Kihm, who was also a playwright, published works by Cocteau as well as an essay, and staged his plays at the Troyes Festival and on the radio.
