A Japanese-style clock in polychrome earthenware depicting a lion or ‘Fô’ lion, a phoenix and a dragon amidst waves. Circa 1875–1900.
Comparable to a similar piece sold by Sotheby’s in 2000 and signed KELLER and GUÉRIN in Lunéville.
39.5 x 38 x 18 cm.
The bird’s beak has been repaired (the tongue is missing); a piece of the wing is missing; restoration on the dragon’s back and the tail of the Fô dog; a few chips; no pendulum.
