Description
Collectible fossils. Large Spinosaurus tooth with its root. Spinosaurus aegypticus. 94–100 million years old. Length approx. 14 cm. A superb fossilised tooth. The largest known predatory dinosaur. Weighing up to nine tonnes, six metres tall and eighteen metres long: it is three metres longer than the largest known specimen of T. rex. With a spectacular dorsal sail, webbed hind feet, an elongated crocodilian head and slender, sharp teeth: this mega-predator, a hunter lying in wait in shallow waters, is the first known dinosaur capable of moving both on land and in water. And of taking on the Mosasaur? As found (standard consolidation). Sahara. Lower Cretaceous
