A cigarette case with a hinged lid, made of rose vermeil and 800/°° silver, featuring a gadrooned pattern. Illegible hallmark and master’s mark MR (Remy Maria?). Dimensions 12 x 8 cm. Gross weight 204 g. Circa 1950. It should be noted that the item bears a handwritten and engraved inscription by Mrs Lilian Schneider, wife of Charles Schneider (Le Creusot), both of whom were recognised as ‘Righteous Among the Nations’ in 2019 for having saved Jewish children during the war.
