Glass perfume bottle with an 18K gold (750°/°°) collar and stopper; the pear-shaped body is carved with lines that curve inwards to form squares with bevelled edges, a trilobed stopper, openwork and chiselled with shells, leafy knots and foliage motifs; a slightly scalloped collar featuring a cartouche of pointed cubes, sprigs and musical and amorine motifs; the stopper and collar connected by a small chain.
Paris hallmarks by Jean-Jacques Prévost 1762–1768, re-hallmarked with an eagle’s head on the small rings; Master Goldsmith: F T? G, a star.
H. 11.7 cm.
Gross weight: 96.7 g.
In its morocco-style case, marked ‘AC’ and stamped with a baron’s tortile, gilded frieze with fine engraving, violet velvet interior.
Bottle: attached chain, slight pitting on the glass, the upper part partially and slightly frosted on the inside.
