Description
A large, pear-shaped silver tripod jug; the upper section features a laurel wreath between two rows of beads, echoed on the rim of the hinged, domed lid, the body shaped like a ribbed seed resting on a base of palmettes and leafy scrollwork; a blackened wooden handle with a riveted coil at the top, set upon two discs featuring a stylised leaf motif; a spout in the shape of a bird’s head; and claw-shaped feet with palmette fittings and a Zephyr’s head.
