A personal set comprising:
A silver jug, a cup and saucer, decorated with an engraved medallion featuring a foliage scroll and flowering stem (undated), a motif repeated on the cup and saucer, the jug’s handle features a leaf-entwined scroll design, a hinged lid and a spout shaped like a leafed seed, resting on a moulded base.
Minerve 1st Class, Master Silversmith: Chauchefoin & Cie, hallmarked in 1859, struck off in 1865.
Height of jug: 13.5 cm, diameter of cup: 8.5 cm, diameter of saucer: 11.5 cm.
Weight of the three pieces: 323 g.
A small chip on the rim of the lid; the handle requires slight straightening.
Case marked with the Imperial Crown and ‘N E’ for Eugénie Napoléon, blue velvet interior, length 29.5 cm, width 20 cm.
