A dodecahedral die made from elephant ivory (Elephas maximus, Loxodonta africana or Loxodonta cyclotis), engraved and inked. Germany, 17th century. Total height: 3.5 cm Gross weight: 45 g Expert: Pierre GRIGNON DUMOULIN, court-appointed expert at the Amiens Court of Appeal, approved assessor for works of art made from materials derived from biodiversity. Specimen composed wholly or partly of ivory from proboscidean Elephantidae spp. (Elephas maximus, Loxodonta africana or Loxodonta cyclotis) listed in Appendix I/A of CITES/EU. Current IUCN status: Elephas: Endangered, Loxodonta africana: Endangered, Loxodonta cyclotis: Critically Endangered. In accordance with the regulatory provisions in force within the European Union (Regulation (EU) No 2021/2280 of 16 December 2021), the item will be delivered to the purchaser together with its Intra-Community Certificate FR2607600091-K issued by the DREAL on 5 August 2026, attached to the expert report drawn up by Mr Pierre Grignon Dumoulin, a court-appointed expert in works of art composed of materials derived from biodiversity and an approved agent. Export outside the EU is prohibited, except to state cultural institutions upon presentation of supporting documentation.
