A carved elephant ivory (Elephas maximus, Loxodonta africana or Loxodonta cyclotis) Calvary under glass, depicting Christ on the Cross, accompanied by Saint John and the Virgin Mary, surrounded by the instruments of the Passion. Wooden frame with gilded stucco. France, Dieppe, 19th century. Total height: 37 cm – Length: 52.5 cm Total gross weight: 2,690 g Expert: Pierre GRIGNON DUMOULIN, court-appointed expert at the Amiens Court of Appeal, authorised agent for works of art made from materials derived from biodiversity. Specimen composed wholly or partly of ivory from proboscidean elephantidae SPP (Elephas maximus, Loxodonta africana or Loxodonta cyclotis) listed in Appendix I/A of CITES/EU. Current IUCN status: Elephas: Endangered, Loxodonta africana: Endangered, Loxodonta cyclotis: Critically Endangered. In accordance with the regulatory provisions in force within the European Union (Regulation (EU) No 2021/2280 of 16 December 2021), the item will be delivered to the purchaser together with its Intra-Community Certificate FR7607600084-K issued by the DREAL on 30 July 2026, attached to the expert report drawn up by Mr Pierre Grignon Dumoulin, a court-appointed expert in works of art composed of materials derived from biodiversity and an approved agent. Export outside the EU is prohibited, except to state cultural institutions upon presentation of supporting documentation.
