Description
A large clock in chiselled, gilded bronze and midnight-blue porcelain, featuring motifs of cupids on either side of an ovoid vase, within which are housed the movement and the dial with Roman numerals, signed ‘WORMS aîné’, Rue de la Flèche, Paris. The case is richly decorated with ram’s heads and foliage, and is surmounted by a cherub seated on a bed of foliage and flowers. The plinth features a frieze of interlacing patterns, foliage and an oval cartouche depicting a cherub surrounded by a frieze of pearls and floral garlands.
