Amable Delphin PETIT, known as AMABLE (1846–1916). A series of three architectural designs, ‘Deuxième Projet la Suisse’. Panoramic watercolours, two of which bear the AMABLE studio stamp on the reverse. Numbered 8, 23 and 24. Visible dimensions: 18 x 139 cm, 17.5 x 133.5 cm and 18.5 x 82.5 cm. (traces of creasing). Note: Delphin Amable Petit, known by the pseudonym Amable (1846–1916), was a highly renowned French painter-decorator, set designer and actor. The son of a mime artist at the famous Théâtre des Funambules, he established himself as one of the leading figures in theatre and opera set design in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
