Description
A rectangular chest of drawers with a slight central projection, finished in exotic wood veneer and marquetry in a ‘butterfly wing’ pattern set within fillet frames; it features four drawers in four rows, with rounded side panels adorned with faux fluting and a scalloped lower crossbar. The piece rests on two small, curved feet at the front and two straight feet at the rear. Decorated with chiselled and gilded bronze fittings, including lock plates, drawer handles, corner finials, footplates and glides.
Top in grey Sainte Anne marble.
Marked by Jean-Pierre BETRAND, admitted as a Master on 1 March 1775, and JME.
