A polychrome carved wooden group depicting ‘the Children at the Salt Cellar’ seated with their heads raised. Probably from eastern France, 15th century. 27 x 18 cm (missing parts and worm-eaten areas have been repaired). Despite its fragmentary condition, this rare group illustrates the legend of Saint Nicholas.
