Histoire des avanturiers qui se sont signalez dans les Indes [...] avecv la vie, les mœurs, les coutumes des habitans de Saint-Domingue & de la Tortue. 2 volumes in one vol. in-12 (15,9 × 9,6 cm), brown calf, double cold fillet framing the boards, spine ribbed and decorated with gilt designs (contemporary binding). Sought-after second edition of this text, which inspired the whole literature of adventure and piracy. Copper-engraved title-frontispiece, 3 folded maps and 4 figures in the text (3 of which are full-page). Restorations, endpapers renewed. A few small tears and stains. - GAGE (Thomas). Nouvelle relation, contenant les voyages de Thomas Cage dans la Nouvelle Espagne, ses diverses avantures, & son retour par la province de Nicaragua, jusquques à la Havane. Amsterdam, Paul Marret, 1720. 4 parts in 2 vol. in-12 (15,9 × 9,2 cm), granulated brown calf, ribbed spine decorated with gilt designs, tawny title-papers (contemporary binding). The set is decorated with two frontispieces, 17 folded out-of-text figures of maps, city views, sports and games, etc., all engraved on copper. Other works on the market have only 15 out-of-text figures. Bindings a little rubbed, headpieces restored. Missing 1st title page. Minor foxing, frontispiece a little short in gutter, small light wetness on first ff. of second volume. - ROCHEFORT. Histoire naturelle des Iles Antilles de l'Amérique. Lyon, Christofle Fourmy, 1667; 2 vol. in-16 (14,3 × 8 cm), parchment, spine ribbed with handwritten title (modern binding). 2 title vignettes, 46 copper-engraved figures: 42 full-page, one half-page and 3 folded out-of-text. The Caribbean Vocabulary occupies the last pages of volume II, which is entitled Histoire morale des Antilles. One spine split and splits to the others. Some light foxing, a little more pronounced in the 2nd volume. Small angular loss on one page without affecting the text. - MERCIER (Louis-Sébastien). L'Habitant de la Guadeloupe, comedy in three acts. Paris, Poinçot, 1785. In-8 (19,5 × 12,3 cm), paperback, soft marbled paper cover. The work was extracted from a collection of plays bound together and protected by new marbled paper covers. Reunion of 4 works on the West Indies and Central America.
