Gr. in-folio (47,7 × 33 cm), shagreened calf, framed with a frieze of gilt designs on the boards, smooth spine decorated with gilt designs, red title page, marbled edges (period binding).
First edition.
Precious and rare collection of 28 figures in 15 plates and 15 maps (some double-page) engraved on copper by Nicolas Ponce.
The table lists 31 plates, but the 17th ("Plan général de la partie françoise de Saint-Domingue") was never produced.

First edition.
Title-frontispiece and 10 out-of-text figures of botany and zoology, all engraved on copper.
A good copy, as issued, of one of the most interesting works on the natural history of Haiti.
Boards slightly rubbed, last few pages a little dusty.
