First edition of this account of a voyage through India (I), the Philippines (II), Cochinchina and Tonquin (III).
It is illustrated with 2 maps and 4 fold-out tables.
The Marquis Renouard de Sainte-Croix made several trips to Asia. His memoir on Cochinchina is one of the first to mention the French presence in Indochina, the future Vietnam; it was written from notes supplied in Macao by Father René de la Bissachère, adviser to the future emperor of reunified Vietnam, Gia-Long.
Covers rubbed, spine splits. Some brown spots.
