Small in-8 (15,8 × 9,5 cm), (18) f. o.b. including the title, 244 f., (1) f. o.b. for the printer's mark, spotted brown calf, spine ribbed with gilt fillets, red title page (19th c. binding).
French translation (following that of 1539) of this work by Johannes Boemus, first published around 1520 in Latin under the title Omnium gentium mores, leges et ritus. Describing the customs, laws and ceremonies of the peoples of the three parts of the world, this work was a great success and was reprinted many times.
Upper spine split. Copy with the date 1542 changed to "1512" on the title and colophon. Mottling; colophon and mark soiled.
