London, Fisher, (1843-1845). 4 parts in 2 vol. in-4 (27,5 × 20,5 cm), red half-chagrin with corners, spine ribbed and decorated (contemporary binding). First French edition. Clément Pellé wrote the descriptions of the manners and customs of the Chinese people and Thomas Allom drew the illustrations: 4 English titles and 120 steel-engraved plates (views, scenes of life, costumes, crafts, etc.).
