MICHEL HERBELIN Newport Yacht Club Regatta Men’s chronograph watch in steel and gold-tone metal (two-tone). - Dial: Sunburst anthracite grey, signed ‘MICHEL HERBELIN’. Large double date window at 12 o’clock. Three gold-tone subsidiary dials (minutes counter at 9 o’clock, small seconds at 3 o’clock, hours counter at 6 o’clock). Gold-tone applied triangular hour markers with luminescent coating, gold-tone luminescent hands. Gold bezel engraved with the word ‘NEWPORT’ and a tachymeter scale. - Case: Round steel case with distinctive central lugs, gold crown and rectangular steel pushers. Solid case back secured with screws, decorated in the centre with a raised ship’s mast bearing the inscription ‘HERBELIN / NEWPORT YACHT CLUB’, and engraved around the edge with ‘SAPPHIRE CRYSTAL - STAINLESS STEEL - WATER RESISTANT 100M - SWISS MANUFACTURED - MADE IN FRANCE’ and numbered 36657. - Movement: Quartz (requires servicing/battery replacement). - Strap: Black leather with light-coloured topstitching, steel folding clasp. Diameter: Approx. 40 mm Condition: Good condition for its age, with significant wear and scuffing on the gold-plated bezel, and micro-scratches on the case and caseback. The watch was not in working order at the time of valuation. Sold without box or papers.
