Description
LINZELER MARCHAK. A red-lacquered silver powder compact, decorated in the centre with a pagoda set against a mountainous landscape. The decoration consists of inlays of mother-of-pearl, semi-precious stones and gold. The vermeil interior contains a mirror and a lipstick case. Circa 1925. Signed and numbered. H_1.1 cm W_6.5 cm D_5 cm. Gross weight: 113.39 grams, 800°/00, slight loss of lacquer at the corners. Note: The collaboration between jewellers Alexandre Marchak and Robert Linzeler between 1922 and 1926 resulted in the creation of a number of pieces of exceptional technical quality.
