HEAD ORNAMENT WITH DIAMONDS AND PEARLS - 1880S
The headband is formed of interlaced arabesques set with rose-cut diamonds, enhanced with old-cut and cushion-cut diamonds, and topped with round, pierced and button-shaped grey pearls. Three drop-shaped grey pearls dangle from it, one of which is larger in the centre. Mounted in 18K pink gold and silver.
A metal system screws into the back of the necklace, allowing it to be worn as a head ornament by removing the three pendants. An aspen hairpin screws into the back (screw thread damaged) and allows it to be pricked into a chignon. A braided chain (at the back) allows it to be worn as a necklace. Weight of main diamond: +/- 1ct. Main fine pearl size: 8.5 x 8.7 x 12.2 mm. LFG report according to their opinion: fine sea water pearl.
