Weight: 84.2 g ‘Belt’-style bracelets first appeared towards the end of the 19th century; they were embellished with motifs set with fine half-pearls. Then, in the 1940s and 1950s, the major jewellery houses – Cartier, Boucheron – began to adorn the ends, buckles and ‘V’-shaped tips with diamonds, sapphires, rubies or emeralds. The ‘ribbon’ sections would feature either ‘honeycomb’ patterns or woven links.
