Description
VATICAN. Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem (reorganised in 1847), Lieutenancy of France. Combination of two squire’s insignia. Late 20th century. A small knight’s trophy cross is attached to it.
The squires were established by the Lieutenancy of France (created in 1931 on the initiative of the Baron de Lormans, Chancellor, and reconstituted in the late 1990s) and constitute a sort of class of aspiring knights, aged between 20 and 30. They are awarded a midnight-blue cloak.
