GERMANY. Heer officer’s ceremonial sabre. Gold-lacquered bronze mountings (showing wear) decorated with oak leaves, filigree tang, crossguard featuring an eagle with outstretched wings. Slightly curved, unmarked nickel-plated blade (length 80 cm); leather pommel. Black-painted iron scabbard, with a suspension ring and a loop, complete with a green leather scabbard strap featuring two rows of silver-coloured metallic braid and a silver-coloured braided tassel. Oxidation – small tears in the leather of the wrist strap. 20th century.
