Description
BACCARAT, France. Set of 6 cut crystal mugs, ‘D’Assas’ model. Hallmarked. H. = 14 cm. In the manufacturer’s box. The D’Assas (or Assas) set, produced between 1971 and 1994, pays tribute to Chevalier D’Assas, a hero of the Seven Years’ War (1756–1763) who died in battle. It follows in Baccarat’s tradition of honouring great historical and military figures such as Talleyrand, Harcourt and Masséna, and its design also evokes, through its mass, strength, rigour and integrity.
