GEO-FOURRIER (Lyon, 1898 – Quimper, 1966) Georges FOURRIER, known as ‘The Old Woman of Ilion’ by Leskoff, 1926 Woodcut, signed top right, countersigned bottom right, titled and numbered 10/30 bottom left. Height: 21.5 cm. Width: 20.5 cm. Visible. Provenance: Géo-Fourrier’s personal collection. This work was exhibited at the 1926 Salon des Artistes Français. Our copy was exhibited at the Musée de Pont-Aven during the Géo-Fourrier exhibition in 2001–2002, and at the Médiathèque Florian in Rambouillet for the exhibition ‘Géo-Fourrier: travel sketchbook’ in 2006.
