A cross known as the ‘Quemperven Cross’, made from shards of pottery and religious images protected by glass and set in cement. A blue-lacquered wooden core supporting a sheet-metal backing. The figure of Christ is made of chrome-plated metal.
Mid-20th century.
Height: 87 cm. Width: 57.5 cm. (Minor imperfections).
These folk art crosses are the work of an as yet anonymous artist from Quemperven. One such cross can be found in the Church of Saint-Quay in Saint-Quay-Perros.
