Manufacture d'HAVILAND in LIMOGES for the CRILLON, Place de la Concorde.
Part of a porcelain dinner service with blue and gilt decoration of elephants and geometric friezes (rare cracks or chips), comprising:
- twelve presentation plates, diam.: 29.3 cm ;
- twelve plates, diam. 24.5 cm ;
- twelve dessert plates, diam. 22 cm ;
- gravy boat, ravier, bowl and bread plates;
- coffee service with nine cups and fourteen saucers.
Founded in the XIXᵉ century, the HAVILAND manufactory quickly established itself as one of the great names in Limoges porcelain, particularly with an international clientele and the grand tables. Its history is linked to that of the art of entertaining: table services,
