Description
CARTIER Rumba" necklace with articulated geometric links in 18k (750 thousandths) yellow and white gold, ratchet clasp bearing the Cartier goldsmith's hallmark and numbered B7453, eight safety pins. In case. Circa 1980-1990. Weight : 54.49 gr - Length : 40 cm The red Cartier case appeared around 1920, following Cartier's worldwide expansion. This deep red symbolises power, passion, courage and respect. Red is a benchmark: to open the Cartier case is to receive an exceptional and precious object. The golden friezes decorating the case appeared as early as 1910 and were stylised in the inter-war period in parallel with the Art Deco movement. The Cartier case thus became an instantly recognisable and desirable object. Lot from a voluntary sale.
