Note: The Nachet opticians’ firm was founded around 1860 by Camille Sébastien Nachet, at 17 Rue Saint-Séverin in Paris. Three years later, Jean Alfred Nachet (son of Camille Nachet) joined the business, which became ‘Nachet & Fils’. They were later joined by their second son, Camille Joseph Nachet, who took charge of the administration. The Nachet family were responsible for several patents, notably for a light chamber.
In 1886, Camille Joseph Nachet became an optician’s assistant at Arnhold, at 21 Rue Caumartin. Later, the two companies merged.
