Ethiopian triptych icon Tempera on wooden panel covered with gesso. In the centre the Virgin and Child surrounded by Saint Michael and Saint Gabriel and on the side panels the Crucifixion and Resurrection of the Lord. Saint Mary wears the blue veil known as the maphorion and holds in her hand the white handkerchief of Ethiopian dignitaries, the mappula. 41 x 28 cm (closed format) and 41 x 57 cm (open format).
