Note: RENÉ BRY & CIE, founded in 1937 by René Bry, is renowned for the quality of its jewellery craftsmanship and its work as a manufacturer for leading Parisian houses. Among its most notable collaborations is that with Pierre Sterlé, several of whose designs were crafted in René Bry’s workshops. Its history is also intertwined with that of Van Cleef & Arpels, for whom René Bry served as managing director during the Occupation. Renamed René Bry & Cie in 1957, the firm continued to uphold its craftsmanship under the leadership of his sons Frédéric and Jean-Marc Bry, before gradually ceasing operations following René Bry’s death in 1992.
