* CESAR (1921–1998) Michel Pastor’s 50th birthday Lithograph signed in pencil with a thumbprint in the bottom right-hand corner and numbered 48/150 in the bottom left-hand corner Dimensions: 31 x 21 cm The inside of the work shows the menu for the meal and states ‘original work by César for Michel Pastor’s 50th birthday’. Whilst dining at a client’s home, César met Jean Gismondi and Chantal Helenbeck; he was invited to the Bastide du Roi, where he settled for around two years. It was he who launched the Helenbeck sisters’ careers.
