Description
Raoul Ubac (1910-1985) - Exhibition. Galerie Maeght, Paris. Printed by Arte, Paris. 77x56cm. Original poster, lithograph. Not canvas-backed. Condition A- one tiny marginal tear. Original poster presenting the exhibition of Raoul Ubac at the Galerie Maeght in Paris. Born in Malmedy in 1910, Raoul Ubac was a painter, engraver and photographer associated with the Surrealist movement. A close friend of André Breton in the 1930s, he developed a unique body of work combining abstraction and experimentation with materials, particularly slate and innovative photographic techniques such as solarisation. His work, marked by constant research into texture and the transformation of forms, occupies an important place in twentieth-century art.
