Original advertising poster designed by Bernard Villemot for Bally, a Swiss luxury shoe manufacturer. A major figure in twentieth-century French poster art, Villemot was renowned for his clean style, elegant silhouettes and masterful use of colour and flat tints, which enabled him to create immediately legible, highly graphic images. This creation is part of the long collaboration between major international brands and French poster artists in the post-war period, during which the advertising poster became a genuine artistic creation in its own right.
