Description
Louis Chabaud (French, 1941–2023) Deconstructed Portrait Polychrome ceramic. Unsigned. H 20 W 26 D 14 cm. Missing parts. Provenance: the collection of Laurent Danchin (1946–2017), writer, essayist and art critic, passed down through the family. Born in Aubagne, encouraged by the santon maker Marius Chave, Chabaud shifted the focus of his work around 1975 towards a ‘poetic and delirious’ universe blending painting and ceramics; settling in Praz-sur-Arly, where he founded the Festival d’Art Hors-les-Normes.
