Further information:
The Estafette was not an arbitrary choice for Jacquet: as the most iconic industrial object of everyday French life, it provided the ideal medium (both literally and figuratively) for him to continue his long-standing exploration of how mass-produced images and objects permeate the collective imagination. Its flat, deep-drawn sheet metal panels were also perfectly suited to his screen-printing process, which involved enlarging an image until it dissolved into a pure grid of dots.
Other works from this series will also be featured in the inaugural exhibition *Moteur Imaginaire* at the new Le Large art centre, which is set to open its doors in October.
