COLLECTION OF 75 PORTRAITS AND LANDSCAPES, 1860–1880.
Based at 73 Rue St Ferréol, son of the daguerreotypist Joseph Brion
of Orgeval, a photographer of the Académie des Sciences, Belles-Lettres et
Arts de Marseille.
Albumin and silver prints, mostly in CDV format, mounted on
card with the studios’ addresses printed on the reverse. In a
modern album.
Portraits of children, study of the English horse ‘Oracle’, a mosaic of
miniature portraits entitled ‘Marseille and the Marseillais’, a soldier from 1870, portrait
of a cook preparing a meal (1869), the Old Port, the Joseph
Sec monument in Aix … Two large and beautiful studio studies: portrait of a
little girl with her doll (14 x 10 cm), children (21.5 x 16 cm).
