L. HOSTALIER, J. P. DECKER, JONATHAN ADAGOGO GREEN BLACK AFRICA: Guinea, Ivory Coast, Ubangi, Lagos … 1870–1940 A collection of 63 silver gelatine or albumin prints in various formats. A fine selection of types and customs, hunting, ethnography, dances, masks… Of particular note are 5 rare silver prints by Jonathan Green (1873–1905) bearing the studio stamp on the reverse, circa 1900. He is regarded as the first professional photographer in the Kingdom of Benin (now Nigeria).
