Construction of the Church of Saint-Vincent-de-Paul in Marseille (the Reformed Church), 1852–1862.
A collection of 10 albumen prints mounted on card, curved at the top, numbered and
captioned in pencil by an unidentified hand on the mounts.
Average dimensions: 19.5 x 16.5 cm.
This set of images constitutes the first private commission for architectural photo reports placed with Terris.
It forms part of a commission by the architect for 5 series of 10 unidentified views,
Enclosed is a paper cover, in poor condition, captioned in ink: ‘Church of Saint Vincent-de-Paul
(The Reformed) 5 collections of photographic views of the part of the church designed by the architect
François Reybaud from October 1852 to 18 November 1862, the date of his resignation’, a draft
elevation of the main façade, and an article by the journalist Henri Verne.
Interior and exterior views of the church during the works: South side (1), Corner of the south transept
(2), apse of the central nave (3), corner of the north transept (4), interior façade of the north transept
(5), corner of the north-east transept. Sunset (6), North aisle and its apse (7), Eastern tower on the
east side of the north façade (8), Lower part of the south side façade (9), upper part of the north side façade
as seen from the street (10).
