ADOLPHE TERRIS (1820–1899) Renovation of Marseille’s Old Town, opening of Rue Impériale, 1862 Photographic album of the ‘Old Streets Demolished for the Opening of Rue Impériale’, folio size, half-bound, brown shagreen with worn original corners, ribbed spine decorated with fillets, fleurons and gilt title, front cover bearing the city’s coat of arms, foxing and soiling on some mounts. A very complete copy with several prints showing fine chemical development. 26 albumen prints from collodion glass negatives, mounted on card. Titles, captions, dates and photographer’s credit: ‘Phot.Terris’ printed on the mounts. Album: 45.5 x 35.5 cm. Plates: 45 x 34 cm. Prints on average: 25 x 19 cm. List of Streets: 1.
