The Runnymede Park was one of three ‘transport vessels’ that
took on board the Jews deported from the Exodus at Haifa and brought them back
to Europe. The ship arrived on 29 July 1947 in the roadstead off Port-
de-Bouc, carrying numerous refugees in very
poor sanitary conditions.
