Description
Lace-making folder
Made of walnut, from a single piece of wood, engraved and carved. Features an openwork design of a large fleur-de-lis, the tip of which is adorned, on both sides, with an engraved image of Saint François Régis, with a patina finish. The backgrounds and borders on both sides are decorated with friezes of lozenges, wolf’s teeth, stars and lozenge-patterned trellises.

Saint François Régis was the patron saint of lace-makers, many of whom made pilgrimages to his tomb and returned home with a small bottle containing miraculous water from his fountain.
