Description
Lace-making frame
Made of walnut, from a single piece of wood, engraved and carved. Decorated with four opposing hearts set within a circle, flanked on either side by four further hearts set within lozenges. Friezes of wolf’s-teeth motifs highlight the borders and adorn two triangles. The other side is adorned with a medallion depicting a cherub, inlaid at the centre of a circle. It is surmounted by a cross. Lenses, lozenge-patterned trellises, small flowers and friezes of wolf’s-teeth motifs adorn this side.
