A Zouave Souvenir Box Made of polychrome wood and metal. Softwood box with a sliding lid secured by a lock. Richly decorated with the emblem of the 3rd Zouave Regiment, and bearing numerous references to campaigns: ‘1907 ALGERIA 1909 // CONSTANTINE PHILIPPEVILLE // SETIF // BATNA // BOUGIE // GUELM(im)”. On one side, a scene entitled “AT THE BIVOUAC” depicts a soldier’s pack, along with two flags bearing the following inscriptions: ‘3rd ZOUAVE REGIMENT’ and ‘SEBASTOPOL // GREAT KABYLIA // PALESTRO // SAN-LORANZO // FAR EAST’.
