Heian Yūsai 平安雄斎 (Japan, 20th century) Black lacquer cylindrical tea pot (nakatsugi natsume) with yamimaki-e decoration of cherry blossoms and weeping willow branch at night, the top of the lid in kinji lacquer with tone-on-tone decoration of cherry blossom branch. The inside is in ginji lacquer. The inside of the lid bears the kao of Hisada Soya (Jingyusai) (1925-2010), 12th tea master of the Hisada family of the Omotsenke school. H. 6.6 cm; Diam. 6.7 cm Storage box (tomobako), the reverse of the lid bearing the inscription "Willow-cherry tree, nakatsugi, Jingyusai", signed Heian Yūsai and stamped.
