Note: Barthélémy Samson was born in 1728. He joined the family workshop and received his hallmark in 1757. The quality of his work made his workshop the most prosperous in the Pink City. Among his most outstanding works are a floral play carnation dated 1772, kept at the Paul Dupuy Museum in Toulouse, and a ewer and its basin dated 1771, kept at the Metropolitan Museum in New York. His work is part of the late Rococo tradition, characterised by flowing forms, foliage, shells and plant motifs.
