Isfahan – Iran – Shah era – c. 1965/70 A fine, high-quality wool and silk carpet. Silky wool pile of fine quality; flowers surrounded by silk on a silk ground. An ivory field decorated with scrollwork, fine crenellated stems ending in ochre and rust-coloured floral palmettes, framing a central multi-lobed rosette with a mosaic of ivory and lilac flowers. Four spandrels with motifs reminiscent of the central medallion. Five borders, the main one being pale pink and decorated withinterlacing of fine twigs surrounded by ruby-coloured floral buds and bulbs in the form of stylised rings 320 x 207 cm Stains to be noted (can be cleaned by a specialist stain remover; please contact the expert)
