Description
Michel FROMENT (born 1951) ‘Petits cochons’ console table in black-tinted heat-plasticised metal. Signed with a stamp on the back of one of the pigs. One-off piece. Removable glass top. Height: 98.5 cm – Length: 119.5 cm - Depth: 36 cm Note: French designer Michel Froment has, since the 1990s, been developing a distinctive practice at the crossroads of design and sculpture. His formal vocabulary favours organic volumes, playful silhouettes and a free-spirited approach to function. The ‘Petit Cochon’ series exemplifies this approach: the furniture takes on a sculptural and narrative dimension, thanks to its zoomorphic and deliberately offbeat forms. Straddling the line between functional object and work of art, these creations stand out for their playfulness, expressiveness and formal freedom.
